During the rally I’m just a baby, because I have my co-driver

October 28, 2010

All my readers know that in rallying co-drivers are essential. They have 3 major functions:

→ keeping you on the road (reading pace notes)

→ keeping you on route (navigating between stages, headquarters, etc)

→ keeping you on time

However, there is much more to it. One of the best things about rallying is that the driver can concentrate on just driving, not having to worry about anything else! It’s pretty much like being a baby – just playing around and doing what’s fun! On the other hand, co-drivers have to deal with all the grown up issues and being responsible. We (drivers) love and thank our co-drivers for taking this burden off our shoulders!

Also, a good co-driver will always pick you up when you’re feeling down, and will know what to do when you’re getting a little too excited.

Amen to that! Jenn is 100% dedicated to doing all the TSD math, even when the rally starts at 7pm (after she woke up for work on a Saturday morning at 5am, worked 8 hours, and *then* we left for the rally…)
