CASC-OR Race School (Ontario), instructor Pierre Mandeville

April 25, 2011
Shannonville racetrack offers incredible 4 configurations

Those who were following my twitter over the weekend knew that we were having a blast at the racing school. Read up on the tweets, there are some cool pics of a rare BMW M3 Evo 2 that was driven by one of the students.

I’m too tired to write a long post, but I must tell you — take the school, it’s absolutely worth the time and money! Even if you’re not planning on actually racing, still do the school! You will have a lot of fun, you WILL become a better driver and you will become a safer driver. You can bring any car, one guy was in a Ford pickup truck and still drove quite well. I took the school to improve my rallying skills, but anyone can pick up something useful for them.

Here you can find the information about the school, or send an e-mail to the organizers: Bob Armstrong:, Cindy Armstrong:

Huge THANK YOU goes to all the marshals, instructors and all other amazing volunteers, who made it all possible.

Special thanks to Cindy and Bob for pairing me with a great instructor Pierre Mandeville, who taught me a lot and had no problem taming the Bastard, despite not being able to reach the pedals -;) As soon as Pierre drove the car through the first 5 corners, I knew that I’m in good hands. Mind you, Bastard had gravel rally shocks and brakes.

And last but definitely not least, thanks to Richard Foegele, who persuaded Can-Jam boys and myself to take the school in the first place.

Happy Easter!

P.S. The main thing I learned: the earlier you can squeeze the orange – the better. This is the key to everything.

P.P.S. BTW, I did get my racing license, so as far as road racing is concerned, Mosport and Honda Indy Toronto are up next!
